Abakua,

You must have another picture that's not posted because you refered to a "little guiro" for your girlfriend. :D

Those are both pretty huge, bro! Both really nice craftsmanship, too. Keep up the good work.

Peace,

Impressive Guiro... Abakua... :)

I like the key idea... Are you using this for ambiant sound or do you use them as chaworo's for bata?

I wonder how it would sound as a chaworo... ???

Hmmmmm....

Abakua,

You may need a Stand to play a guiro that big.

Hi all,
Abakua, your Guiro seem incredible.
I'm going to try to make one Guiro. I've one Lp Plastic Guiro, but I find that the sound isn't traditional.
I hope to manage this.
Great Job

G'day

I got this link from abakua, THE GOURD FATHER.

http://www.thegourdfather.com/index.htm

You can order gourds from him. the Gourd father is in australia thought. Search through the site as he has a page with all the available gourds. I didn't know that there were so many available. so when growing our own for either a guiro or shekere make sure you get the right seeds.

You guys are right, abakua has been giving horse steroids to his gourd plants. that is one big gourd. :D

Bless you

Pidoca

Ivan, thanks for the positive comments! re the keys chime, I use it for ambient sound effects. Does not serve the purpose of chaworo, nor would I think of using it in that context...

hahahah caballoballo, lol no stand needed, its very light and comfy to hold! But yes, Ive heard that joke a few times now when peeople see my guiro! :D

Cuidado! as long as you follow the steps in making the guiro from my other thread, you shouldnt have a problem! Keep us posted!
(link to step by step instructions in my first post in this thread)
Ive recently planted more gourd seeds, various types of seeds for different strains of gourds, I will update with pics as they come along..

Captainquinto! Thanks for the kind words, hehehe the little one looks bigger than it really is! They not huge, they just got big bones! hahahaha.
