Hey Everyone

My first post. I played a set of the Gon Bops Tumbao drums and loved them. Does anyone know if and what model of the evans synthetic heads fit their rims? :D

Lucionk,
Welcome to the forum brother, let us know more about yourself.
Cant help with the sizing of Evans heads, but from my experience, Evans do not improve the tone of your drums, just make them louder and brassier.
The skin is 50% of your sound and Gon Bops come with pretty good heads, changing to synthetic will lose you tone in exchange for volume but with microphones volume is not an issue.
I think you may find it difficult to find evans that fit, as they are only made for mass produced drums, but I may be wrong.

my two pennies.

The Gon Bops Tumbao Series (not the California Series)
are also mass produced drums made by DW in
their Taiwan factory. The wood's tone is pretty good, but
the heads are nothing to write home about.
The Tumbaos aren't the same as all the rubber wood Thailand congas, (called "Thai Oak"). This wood is a bit better. Change the skins to something thicker and you'll
have yourself a very good sturdy set of congas.
