Hey London conga players.

This is Steve Marin and Carlos Mora and the rest of Son Veneno.

We are life long friends of Abakua. Before we tell you what we're about, We'd like to extend the hand of friendship to all conga players. All of you are welcome to join this forum. We are grateful to Abakua for introducing us to this page. Thanks Bro!

We are now in London, and we would like to know if any one may offer us any tips on how to survive here with our congas.

Check out http://www.sonveneno.com

We're also looking for a percussionist to play with us in Europe.
Do visit our page, and if you like our tunes, let us know..

Hoping to hear from you soon.

With every good wish.

By the way, for anyone going onto the site ( http://www.sonveneno.com ) the sample tracks that auto play freeze on song 6, it wont load. You will need to click on track 7 for the audio to continue so you may hear the rest of the tracks from the album.

Hey Steve and Carlos,

Welcome to the Smoke brothers.
The best place to find out what is happening in London is to buy 'Time Out' for starters.

Where are you based in London?

Ah the brothers finally joined up!

Well technically they aint in London till this Tuesday... We have our last 2 farewell gigs and album launch this week and they leave on Tues. so next week they'll be in London..

All the best, and y'know whoever you get to replace me is getting the boot when I arrive there!

Oh yeh, you might wanna mention, Carlos is a top sonero/mc rapper extraordinaire and a mean ass quintero.
Steve is also one of the finest modern style timbaleros I have ever heard and combined on drums, he has what it takes to sit in with the the very best timba groups out there.
Very solid and strong drummer/timbalero. Word. The best I have ever played with.

PS I will post up the pics of our final rehearsal from last night, the album launch tonight and the final farewell concert this weekend in the coming days.

See you bitches tonight! :D

Bros, use what you got. Take the CD and sell the band.
Diversify. I new of some cats about 10 of them, formed 5 bands.
Played from R&B,to Jazz, Latin, Reggae, at times the band was a trio, cuartet, or a big salsa band.

Tonights gig rocked. Son Veneno blew the roof off the joint.
I wasnt at my best unfortunately, as Im nursing a bad ass cold and have a high fever, I still did the gig, gave it all I had, felt like collapsing at the end!!

We did 1 x 2hr set, straight non stop. Smashed it.
Im told heaps of pics were taken... I will get them up all together, most likely after Saturdays final gig.

Im going to miss you guys. Not only has it been a pleasure being so close for so many years, but performing with SV has been the best of the best ever bands in Australia. An honour and privelidge, a merit earned and respected by all locally.

I will miss our gigs, all day rehearsals and rumbas. Not only are my closest friends leaving, but they are also my band and fellow rumberos.

Good luck and all the best conquering Europe. :)
