Good day,
Found your site on Google, and I would love your collective expertise on replacement conga/bongo heads. I have Armando Peraza's cherry wood congas made in '98, and would like to replace the heads. The heads are in good shape, except for one with 2 cracks at edge, and they are beginning to sound "dull". I have seen replacements for bongos, although they are the darker, tan colored cow skin, I believe, vs the original lighter, cream colored skins.
Thanks so much,
Ciao, Lori

Alafia Abure Lori!
I hope that you are well and in an abundance of blessings sister!

If you continue to search this forum (topics), you'll find a thread or two on the topic, however if you aren't about seaching, check the following website for step-by-step instructions!

http://www.volcanopercussion.com

Look under the topic "tucking skins"

Be forewarned however, I won't be responsible for the infectious buying fever once you look at their
drums! :D :D :D

BTW! Welcome to the forum, would you like to share a bit about yourself? What do you play? How long have you been playing? and whatever else you'd care to share!

Many blessings!

Onile!

Here's a pic from a newly arrived
batch of mule skins. If you're in the NY
area we can mount them for you also
at JCR.

Lori,

Isaac at JCR is a consummate pro who will provide you with the aboslute best heads. JCR mules will raise the sound of your tubs to a new level. You will fall deeply in love with them. I have JCR mules on all 3 of my drums (wood quinto and conga, glass tumba) and they are wonderful. Contact Isaac.

In fact I know a famous conguero who recently left his wife of 17 years for one of Isaac's muleskins. Thank God, they didn't have children!!!
