You definitely have a lot of new instruments. With the arsenal like that: 1- you won't be bored, 2- there's years of chops work-out to do. and 3- lot's of fun

While you guys are all adding tubs to your setup, I've scaled things down for the more intimate settings. A smaller setup-- for me-- is on the money.

Mike,
As far as I know, there is no Rhumba... but I know of many drum circles that I stay away from. I don't get out much unless I'm playing.
CongaTick, where'd you get that extra large dollar bill?

Here is a sample of my equipment. I have too many congas since I bought several (original) classic Wood LP's for $179.00 when they were on clearance @ Guitar Center.

Mike, the brasilian stuff, the RMV pandeiro and tamborim. man are they heavy!! hate to be at the Carnival playing for blocks with that stuff, recently I picked up a tamborim it was so heavy, took half of the hardware and made another one out of wood, way lighter . The heavy stuff is good to practice on your chops, because when you pick up the light stuff you fly.

OLSONGO I agree, if you don't play it everyday it is very heavy. I have another pandeiro made out of wood that I play alot, it is very light and i love the jingles. The pandeiro is heavy and I try to use it only for intros and ending to tunes. Most of the time i'm playing sax.

Fortunately for me the tamborim is mounted so I can strike it with the right hand while playing congas.

The "big" dollar bill is one of the few I've managed to acquire over the years. Hard to find. Hard to keep.
