Just got myself both compact quinto and conga with mounting system. I had a few dodgy overtones rectified by some good old fashioned gaffa tape underneath the skin. Now they sound great. As for the mounting system its about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. I think I'll invest in some snare stands, hopefully this will stop them bouncing around all the time. Lp say they can be muted too, so I emailed them to find out how. The technical department wrote back saying cut some foam out to fit the inside of the rim. Next they'll be selling foam with lp stamped on it. Hope this helps. Happy daze, over and out

Just used my compacts at a rehearsal with my band. The guys in the band were amused to say the least when I pulled them out the bag but by the end of the rehearsal they were sold. I was really impressed with them and set up and de-rig time was super quick and they take up no room in a car. I would say to anyone not to bother buying the mounting system. I found it pretty much unusable. I used two snare stands instead and they worked fine. The congas sound good with mic's but still no match for a set of lp galaxy's!!!
I love the compact congas. I have both sizes each for sale if anyone is interested. I'm moving and am having a huge percussion sale. Both the 11 and 11 3/4 for sale. I'd take $75 US each, you pay shipping.
polish_lancer, hope all is well!! lol !! great alternative. tell me where can i find that type of salad bowl?? do wall-mart have it, k-mart?? will appreciate your help!! thanks and my best to you. franc
A friend of mine just purchased both, the quinto and conga. These drumms are nice and extreamly practical but because they dont have a full sound I would never use them as my primary drumms (they make a good accent drumm), especially for live performances.
hey guys i also have both sizes and i use them for when im doing small gis and also when i go to rehearsals and dont have to carry my real congas..i had a gig one night where i only took the compacts and my hpd15 handsonic....man it was all types of eyes on me like.damn he got alot sound coming out of that small section!..i love them
