Oh Great! I just downloaded in my pants after all of that! :D :D

I have four drums on order with Matthew, he should be done with them this month! After looking at these pics, I KNOW I'm gonna have a truly beautiful set of drums!

Thanks for sharing, a bit obsessively, but I'm not complaining mind you! I'll be doing the same once mine come home Abure Ironman.

Suave!

Hi Ironman,

Thanks for sharing those Matthew Smith pictures with us. Those are gorgeous-looking tubs indeed! It's easy to tell that you're very passionate about them.

As the great 19th century English poet, John Keats, wrote in his epic poem, "Endymion", "A thing of beauty is a joy forever."

Man, just like Volcano congas (Koa wood), I'd be very reluctant to take them out of the house for gigs 'cause I'd probably be more worried about them being scratched, dinged or stolen than focusing on my percussion playing! To me, they'd most likely just end up being precious furniture in my living room.

I'd like to echo Grateful1's question: How much does each cost? In addition, do you know how long it takes for Matthew Smith to make a set of 3: quinto, conga and tumba? I'm just curious.

Thanks in advance,

Onile!

LOL :D LOL

Matthew definately has Jay's (Skin on Skin) design down. I think Matthews congas have more of a belly. The wood that he uses is really beautiful.

Last I heard they were about 750 ~ 800 or so. build tme about 4 or 5 months? Onile's set should be a good time teller.

Just for reference sake, I placed my order in early December 06', he originally told me that I could expect them between June and September 07'.

They ran me around $750 a drum. 11 3/4", 12 1/2", 13 1/2, 13 3/4", Mahogony wood!
