Ironman,

Muy bien! Thanks for asking! I hope you're very well, too!

Man, those Skin on Skin tumbadoras are simply beautiful, a joy to behold!

Man, don't ever make the mistake of inviting me to visit your place 'cause with all your collection of the "creme de la creme" of tumbadoras, you may just have to adopt me as a permanent member of your household! :;):

All the best, :)

Ironman, :)

For sure! Bro, that's a very tempting offer! Thanks so much! :D

I have a sister living in Teaneck, New Jersey with her family. In fact, in July 2000 I visited my Dad who was 86 then and very sick (he passed away that November) and my then 78-year-old Mom (she's now 85 and still living), both of whom lived with her.

While in New Jersey for a week, I toured New York for the 2nd time (1st time was in 1982), but much more extensively this time: Uptown, Midtown and Downtown Manhattan; ST. Patrick's Cathedral; Times Square; Broadway; the Statue of Liberty; Ellis Island; Metropolitan Museum; Central Park; etc.

I even entered the then-existing Twin Towers. For some strange reason, I only went inside the lobby and didn't feel like taking the elevator and going to the top of the building. An omen? A 6th sense perhaps? :(

So, if ever I get to visit my sister again, I'll definitely call you up. From an artist's point of view, New York has always been on my list of top 5 or 10 spots in the world. It's San Francisco (another city that I love) several times bigger! Truly, it's a "city that never sleeps"!

I'd also love to visit the historical Palladium and the world-famous JCR shop and salivate at all the handcrafted Latin percussion instruments made there, especially the congas, solid-shell bongos and stainless-steel timbales. (I already own 3 JCR cowbells.) I hope that they make it a historical music landmark someday, if it isn't already.

Above all, I'd like to meet "the man", Cali Rivera himself, in person. I've more than once read that he just loves to talk and tell stories. I've even listened to an MP3 interview of him on the Internet and he surely is a very colorful character!

Oh, I'm sure that I'd just be like a little kid with an open mouth staring and listening to a well-loved uncle's precious stories in awe! I wouldn't want to miss any of that for the world!

Lastly, if you don't mind, I'd love to see your extensive collection of some of the world's best tumbadoras and other Latin percussion instruments! :D

Sincerely, :D

Ironman, :)

Thanks so much for your sympathy! My Dad's body was cremated and the urn containing his ashes was brought back to the Philippines by my Mom. So, it can be said that my Dad traveled with my Mom back home for his own funeral. :;): Somehow, at least for me, burying the cremated remains of a loved one seems to be less painful than burying his/her whole body.

Sorry to hear about your loss, too. :(

So, you lived in Teaneck, too. You and my sister have a small world. And you had a Filipina former girlfriend. Hmmm, intriguing! :;):

Thanks so much again for your very hospitable offer! I know that your offer is sincere. I absolutely have no reason to question it. I trust you, Bro! And I'm keeping your phone number.

I'm extending the same offer to you in case you're in my neck of the woods.

You take care, too, "hombre"! :D
