I ordered a quinto from Ralph Flores at Resolution Drums the other day...Ralph is the son of Tom Flores of Valje fame.
He gave me a substantial discount off of his website listed price. The price he gave me also includes tax, shipping, a custom bag and a stand.
I had'nt known the bag and the stand would be included which was a nice surprise, and I did'nt ask for the discount, so I was very impressed with his generosity.
I had ordered a set of bongos from him a few weeks before and added the quinto later......
There's this guy in one of my classes and he plays a vintage Valje quinto, and I was sitting next to him last week, and next thing you know I'm ordering a quinto that is as close to Valje as you can get.
Congratulations! For me, Resolution Drums have always had an understated, clean and elegant look. So do their low stands.
BTW, I'm almost sure that the free bag is made by JP Cases in So. Cal. Resolution's website says that it's made in the U.S. And the design is very familiar.

Charlie,
I know this thread is about Resolution Drums, but I haven't figured out yet how to move this reply (with my quote of your above email) to the Isla Percussion thread. So, I'll have to say it: Those are simply gorgeous pictures of your Islas and Gon Bops CA bongos!
But, hey, those red Islas in one of your pictures look very familiar. Are those my Islas? :;):
Kidding aside, I absolutely sure that they aren't mine, because mine have 5 aircraft aluminum bands rather than just 4.
As I've said before, the poet John Keats said, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever." You are most blessed indeed, mi hermano querido!
Again, I can't thank you enough for keeping me on the "straight and narrow path" in ending up selecting the Gon Bops CA bongos among some of the other best bongos out there: JCR, Matthew Smith, Timba, etc. Everything you said about it is true: great sound, gorgeous shell, sleek hardware, weight friendly, comfortable to play seated between the leg and thigh, great color selection and very reasonable price.
