Way to go BNB! I like to see acts of civil disobediance for a cause! If you can't drum in a park in SF where can you play at? That's just the man trying to keep us down. Don't give up, you struck a blow for all of us!

Look up that city code number and see if it's legit. Might not be with a homemade-looking sign like that. Could have been made by a neighbor who doesn't like the noise.

If it is legit, you might not want to post pictures on the internet that you took it. Especially with certain plants in the background. Could get you hassled.

Whop!
yes it's a legit code, the signs just had'nt been posted previously.

Thanks for your concern man! But I'm pretty sure I can handle the heat on the sign if it goes down! btw I think I am going to take Olsongo's hint and repost the signs after I doctor them up.

As for the plants, I am a legal grower in the state of California and my crop iswithin legal limits.

You da man BNB !!

Talking of municipal code, SF's code is wack.
Section code 4.01(k) is for percussion instruments 4.02 is for swimming under disorderly conduct. So the posting is improper.
http://www.municode.com/Resources/gateway.asp?pid=14138&sid=5

So it is not legit bro :p , prolly the neighbors.

BTW, I have this eating disorder, could ya send me a care package of sativa samples? :D

Brother bongos...... some questions... What kind of drum playing goes on at that park? Is there a drum circle going on, or some rumba, Taiko ? because if there is some dudes
sounding as if they where falling down stairs . It may draw this kind of reaction.
People in San Francisco know percussion.
I always have known as Frisco' being a hip city with strong percussion roots and many players also coming from Okland.

Dam! that sounds good, I wish it were like that around my way. I may be new to congas but I can get at least half a bucket out of those plants ( in my old days of course ) What strain is that? looks more indica dominant though. Just kidding now back to the drum topics :D :D

The funny thing is I have never seen or heard much drumming in that section of the park, just a solitary person practicing every now and then.

The ordinance is only in effect when a sign is posted, and these signs are recenly posted.

I see lots of cool kung-fu classes going on there, swords and stuff..

plenty of homeless people too.

There is a huge established drum circle in a different part of the park, farther away, but that was another thread.

as far as plants go.....just so everyone knows I am on the up and up (despite appearances) I don't want to get a "bad rep" if you all now what I mean.....

That's hilarious Giordi! Just getting to this thread.
Was that in Mosswood park?

Anyway, eventually we'll all have to rise up against our government. The longer we wait the harder it'll be on all of us.

Its quite sad really. Now if things get out of hand, sure it should be dealt with, but thats what started the whole thing with ordinances. I hate politics and don't normally converse in theses things.
A nice small group of rumberos or conguesros jamm ing out minding their own business. some folks stop by to check it out. Its usually pretty civil. So some bozo thinks hey if they can do that I can do what ever I want. Later on this non mindful dude gets into a brawl, and the mayor says: hmm, we need a rule against drummers.
What a bunch of crap !!

Are the "real drumming" circles playing until dawn or what?

The cold reality is that someone's delicacy is another person's poison. What may be music to us (drumming) is noise (also called "noise pollution") to others.

Under most laws, in case of a conflict between having sound and no sound, having no sound almost always wins. Sound may be had but the volume level will have to be limited.

It's the same with smoking cigarettes. Whenever there arises a conflict between the presence of smoke or the absence of smoke, the law will almost always side with latter--the absence of smoke.

Tonio,

Funny, but this is exactly how some in the outside world perceive drumming circles to be, whether real drumming circles or not.

The big challenge is for the authorities allowing the expression of everybody's legitimate freedoms without anyone infringing on the freedoms of others. Oftentimes, it's just not possible.

Oftentimes, we who clamor for toleration are ourselves not tolerant of others. Ah, unfortunately, such is fallen human nature. :(

MANNY,

YOUR MANY "SILENT TREAMENT" POSTS,
HAVE AN INCREDIBLE FLARE TO THEM.
A STYLE THAT IS BOTH UNIQUE, AND YET,
EXTREMELY SCARY AT THE SAME TIME. :D
