Hi All,

I own a set of LP Giovanni Galaxies, I'd like to find out if it's worth changing the heads and which ones are the best to use. Mule or synthetic?? What are the other options??

I look forward to your posts!!

Peace and calluses.

Galaxies tend to be ringy with the buf. skins they come with.

If you play salsa, id go with Cow or Bull, if you want less of a ring, Mule is a nice choice.

I sell very nice Cow hides, if you need them - hand selected and top quality.

Cali at JCR, i think through a cat named Jason, sells Mule skins. (search for 'mule' on this board)

I would change the skins, in any case. I bet you will like the new sound.

Yep, couldn´t agree more with you, Tony, changing the skin really makes a different drum out of the Giovannis.
So far I give my two thumbs up for MULE. Check out Isaac/JCR´s and you won´t be disappointed - on the contrary... :)

How much would you pay per skin and what about synthetic heads like Evans? Or is that just an evil word that should only be used in private?

My LP classics also seem to have that ring sound. I'd like to try new skins but I don't know how to change them, should I just give it a try by myself?

Give it a try....whats the worse that can happen? The only thing that is stopping me is knowing which one to choose. Good replacements are hard to find in Engand. I would need to have them shipped from over the pond.

Yes, WBB is right, contact him via email, it´s even better because you can explain to him which mule skin type you prefer (thickness etc.)
