SOL conga on ebay - can anyone confirm

I know some of you have SOL congas, theres one on ebay which has the hardware similar to the Sol congas. but i really cant be for sure. can anyone confirm or deny.
might be a good deal as the seller doesnt seem to know that he may have gem. either way maybe someone here can add to their sol set.

What's the wood type on that?

The hardware looks similar, but the rims are definitely not SOL, neither is the construction. Looks like it could be a cool drum though!

I'm almost sure is not a SOL conga. The crown is definitely not SOL. The side plates are the only similarity.
Many years ago I had a conga similar to that one, it turned out to be Mexican and it was 27" in height.

That does'nt look anything like a Sol, the shape is all wrong. Only the lug plates resemble a Sol because they are round. There are other drums with round lug plates.

hey, i know the shape is not the same. and i also know that others that have round plates.
these round plates are almost identical to the sol congas. they have perforated grooves on the edge that kinda resembles a sun, much like the SOL congas.
thats why i made the post. sol congas dont all look like the ones they have on their site.

apologies if my other post sounded kind of strong, was'nt intentional.

when I zoom in on those lugs, they don't look like they are serrated.

I've played the Sol drums that came with the bands, and they have square lugs if I remember correctly, Windhorse here owns them.

Also I think Sol "kerfs" the inside of their staves to aid in the bending? If I'm right you would be able to see that on the inside, I'm not 100% sure on that though.

But all the Sol drums have a pronounced belly, whether high or low depends on the model. I've seen 2 sets of Sol's in person and played on one set. I've also seen others for sale on Ebay and craigslist.

Sol was'nt really in business all that long unfortunately, and that drum looks pretty old.

My best guess is it's a Zim Gar or Mexican conga.
