Hello,
I make one slide on myspace whith some photos of the manufacturing of my fiberglass tumba shell.
No head for the moment, but with one of my bull skin, it will be incredible !!!
Her name is PINK MAMA TUMBA, isn't she funky ???

Wow!! looks very nice. Looks like you turned a block of foam on a vertical lathe to make that original die? What kind of material is that original die made from?

Nice work Congalou , What type of hardware you going to fitt? and will you be making other drums to complete the set? Not too sure about the pink colour :p .

Congalou, sorry for my lack of words, as the actual name is escaping me now... die was the best that I could come up with.. "used to work in a machine/welding shop"...
I was referring to the big plastic looking thing that you turned on a lathe, and ultimately made your molds from. You just called it "platre"... Would that be plaster to me?
I had emailed you about your wooden conga construction a few months back. I bought a Shopsmith since then and have most of my prints drawn out now.... one step closer anyway.

It's not so easy for me to traduce because I have learn english not at school but in a Irish pub near my house....
In a pub, with tree pint, it's easy to understand and to make me understand.... but with internet, it's more dificult !!!
I use simply plaster for the mold, and for the coulour, I use coloring agents. The harware will be the same I use for my oak congas.
I will put some pics here, but I can't show and tell everythings, You can understand That I want to keep some artisan secrets. :;):
