Yeah, patience is everything.
Apart from that, have I told you that the bongó itself was a great deal? 30 EURO at ebay plus the macho skin from Isaac.
So much to vintage bongos. You often see different prices at ebay though. If you don´t mind a little work on them, you can save some bucks!

Mike, just use a 60 watts light bulb, keep a distance about 1 feet & the skin would be ready in a matter of hours. If not,use a fan, make sure to apply air under the rim, that is the only place that takes a little extra time to dry.

Thanks, Caballoballo, a good idea. BTW at the moment it is -5 degree below celsius outside - so I´d better keep my bongo beauty warm :D

Now that the skins have dried, I played those bongos for the first time today - man, the macho sound is awesome! The hembra has a nice punch as a counterpart to the crisp and crackling macho.
Incredible what good heads can do.

Now it´s really the time to be merry for me :;):
