You really stink up this forum.
Condescension and an assumed air of superiority does not suit a forum adminstrator. I say this with all due disrespect. Your chops don't make you a nice person.

Come on bongo, you should know better. Some may think that your post is condescending and judgmental.
There is nothing WRONG with SOUND, INTELLIGENT assessment and judgment.

This is an open forum and discussion about congas and music. There are many pro players here that can see and judge all of the videos for what they are and comment. I'm glad for that, since there are so many videos with bad technique online. People come here to LEARN too. Many videos need critique so new and novice players can read what is good and what is bad. If someone wants to post a video on the Internet it's open discussion. People can tell the difference between a fair and articulate post and someone just wanting to vent and hate. Abakua and others that are objective always seem fair - wanting to tell it like it is. The Doctor may or may not be a "Master" but his hat does add some serious validity to his P.H.D. status. He is clearly an entertainer, provocateur and a fine musician. I'm a fan, play on Doctor Z.

The 10 pages of this thread may have less to do with Doctor Z and more to do with all of the pretension, self-promotion, fake-hype, ease-of-filming and uploading videos and self-described information as truth on the Internet. I think that's why this thread is 10 pages. Discussion is a good thing.

I wasnt going to post on this thread, because unless it is about congas and technique, and the ideas that bring us all together, it isnt worth the effort, and Dr Z is just sitting back and watching all the buttons being pushed. I agree 100% with you Onile, and thanks CM for making it a bit lighter.

You know guys DR. Z didn't start this post, and when everyone demanded he put up some videos and photos, he did. I think he deserves some credit for that.

This is to Abakua only...Since you know how to evaluate Master Percussionists, I would like to ask a few questions …1) which are the four’ key subjects’, which a Master Percussionists should dominate in the Afrocuban Percussion?....In the video, where I play one conga…2) which is the name of the percutive articulation?...3) how the articulation is place in relation to the metric?...4) what I’m doing in the secong stage?,(during the articulation)…..5) What I’m doing in the final stage of the articulation?...6) which where the few percussionists in Cuba which were able to do this articulation at the speed show in the video?...What is the root of the whole percutive articulation?....For the rest of the brothers thanks for your comments.Dr. Zaragemca
