HI,,, it's been a while for me.
I puchased these low conga cradles with each Gon Bops CA series drum over the past 8 months. They cost around $50 from InstrumentPro.com (which is where I got the drums before the obscene price increases, see them in the pictures thread soon). My first impression was "just a low conga stand". These are solid as a rock, and pretty user adjustable. No, they don't fold. Which is a minus if you are transporting alot, but all three can be carried with one hand and weigh very little. If you are in a studio or more permanent situation and play seated...these are great!
I like em pretty low, only 2.5 inches off the floor, which is as low as a tumba, conga, quinto set can get. It required removing the lower brace/cushion. The picture shows only the top brace in the stand. These brace cushions are rubber and leave the black rubber mark which can be removed with some cleaning. I added the moleskin circles over the rubber. They hold the drums solid and yet slide in and out without marking. The brace/cushions are toggle-able and also screw in and out to adjust height and the screw ends are covered by the Gon Bops screw cap for protection. I don't know how high they can go, but they are definitely for seated playing only. You can also tilt just a bit while in the stand and they hold the angle.
The come in quinto, conga and tumba size, relative to Gon Bops drums. They also fit my isla drums (2 conga, 1 tumba) with some adjusting to find the level height. I purchased them from InstrumentPro.com. They aren't on the website, but call Carlos there and use the coupon available from fabuloussavings.com and get 10% off. That put them at $49.99 plus shipping.
Cheers!
Jim
