Thanks NG. Brazilian grooves are hard to find here.
There are a million guitar players but few drummers where I am.

By the way are you left handed?

Congadelica,
Thank you for posting that link to Chembo and Pedrito. That was great to watch/listen to. Take another look at Pedrito's style. His style of playing tumbadoras comes from the school of Tata Guines. Pure and simple. And Pedrito demonstrates his drumming prowess quite impressively. I think however, in my opinion, that he doesn't quite yet have the maturity in his playing as Tata developed many, many years ago, although its just a matter of time. All in all, it was totally awesome to see him play here in this video, the dude rocks! Btw, Chembo keeps a beautiful, steady time. Another great conguero who I admire, Wilson "Chembo" Corniel.

I was searching around the net for Carlos Aldama, who I take classes with and found these videos of my class taken just before I started going, thats Carlos in the red.

It's a fun class, half the appeal is the great "classroom" it's in the playground of Cesar Chavez school. One of the Carlos's students is a teacher there.

The whole side of the school is covered in a mural commemorating Cesar Chavez a champion for the rights of migrant farmworkers

Some classic solo phrases in this one. This must be a hot spot in NYC.
