Thanks fellow members for the props.
As a percussionist and as a craftsman , always had this thing of wanting to learn how some instruments where made, So at times I make some or invent a new one. And I am also passing on the craft, have some people developing the skill and an eye for a good Shekere .
In the past i have made Chimes, woodblocks, metal blocks, cajones, Kalimbas wooden and metal keys, especialty sticks, an okonkolo, bamboo flutes, Udu drums.

Other recent shekeres photos

On the internet there is many of references to the colors and the deities, In some they mention Babalu Aye as being ,
purple, black and brown and others as the white and blue,

Who stands corrected ?

All of the above according to Mr Wikedpeediar
"Babalu Aye is traditionally pictured in blue, brown, red, white, purple, and is offered rice, wheat, corn, beans, chickpeas, garlic, onions, smoked fish and possum in divination rituals"

I played solid for an hour today with 3/2 rumba bell clave with 4 pulse . This baby sound absolutly fabulous , Olsongo your a very good craftsman very well finished .

the dog left the room after 2mins :D tis strange as normally when I practice congas the dog lays out on the couch very chilled. Maybe the high pitch is too much for my pooch ???

Anyone else get one of these babies

Suave
