Hi. I am a beginner. I am looking at a used set of Matador wood congas (11 3/4" & 12 1/2) with padded bags included for $600. The bags are a little rough but the congas are flawless. Is this a good buy?

Thanks

I would think that if you could get the seller to go for 500 dollars it would be a good deal. Let him know that used LP Classics are usually found in the price range of his Matadors asking price.
But.............If you play them and you really like them go for it. After all, it's what you like that counts.
But if this is the first set of drums you have seen, perhaps you should be patient awhile. I can't count all the times that I bought something in a rush only to see a better deal come along shortly after.

A friend of mine just bought a set of 2 for $400, like new.

I myself bought a used matador tumba for $125, it included the bag. It was almost new.

$600 is probably too much, $400-$500 is better.

As per previous posts a used Matador is circa $200 each.

A used Classic would be in the $300 each range.

There are a few Classics currently on ebay, keep an eye out in case the Matador seller refuse to charge a more realistic price.
