I think the Lp Performer and Classic II are 2 ply. Lp Classics are 3 ply. That design on the performer looks just like one of the Gon Bops custom designs but with a wider bordering

the classics do weigh more (fiberglass lining also) and have better hardware, much better skin, etc. the shape and size is the same.

i agree the classics are superior. i love the classics, they are my favorite factory made drum! but for the $$ and if you want a second pair to kick around with, or if you are a beginner on a budget, the performers are great.

Hello All

I have had a set of the Performer Series drums for about 2 years now they are my first set of drums.
I have been learning on them on and off for the past 2 yrs (I had surgery on both shoulders in that time) I always felt that they were good drums for a beginner, much better then the Aspires.
I had some friends visit a little over a month ago they are both accommplished drummers, they played on my Performers, it was then that I realized how good the drums really are by ther tones and sounds they were able to get from those drums. Now I know what I have to look forward to as I get better.

Both my friends said the drums were good for the price.

I have been dealing in skins fro drums for sometime now , and I know that a good natural head without all of the commercial process can make a big difference. I get skins from South America intact with all of the oils still in it , and what a difference.
