Hello first this IS NOT guaguanco maybe it's an "offshoot" way of playing it because he doesnt really know how to play it, so he is "assimilating" the sound.....of the tones.......and the dancers are mediocre at best....Johnny Conga....

Have to agree with JC and add that the quality is just not there in the drumming either.

Im sorry, but that is not guaguanco. I dont know what to call it other than terrible.
I wish I had another set of hands so I could give it 4 thumbs down. Harsh, but true.

I was having drinks at a Latin club celebrating a friends birthday, was well fueled up with rum, late in the night I was invited up to jam with the band during their last set, my friend filmed this short clip of my solo with his phone, not my best, maybe shouldnt play with so much alcohol in me!

Not quite a video but I discovered this gem on BBC website. It is a report a three part relaxed journey of one hour each through Cuba exploring it's music. With interviews and full unabridged live tracks in the customary BBC quality.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/worldmusic/onlocation/cuba.shtml

Check other features on the website covering Belize, Panama, Ghana, etc

Here is the synopsis. !Disfrutale!

PART 1
Saturday 2 June 2007, 3:00pm
In the first of three programmes recorded on location in Cuba, Lucy Duran embarks on a 1000-mile road journey in search of the musical roots of this very musical island. This week she’s in Santiago de Cuba, the sizzling eastern city that’s both the birthplace of son and the cradle of the Fidel Castro’s Revolution.

PART 2
Saturday 9 June 2007, 3:00pm
In the second of three programmes recorded on location in Cuba, Lucy Duran continues her 1000-mile road journey in search of the island’s musical roots. This week she’s in the now infamous town of Guantanamo, famous for its changui style of music. Plus a rare recording of the mechanical organ in Holguin and country music from the colonial gem Trinidad de Cuba.

PART 3
Saturday 16 June 2007, 3:00pm
Lucy Duran concludes her 1000-mile road journey in search of Cuba’s musical roots. This week she’s in Matanzas, the birthplace of two crucial musical styles: rumba and danzon. There she records a session with Munequitos, one of Latin America’s biggest cult bands. And in Havana, record producer Juan de Marcos Gonzalez tells the story of Buena Vista Social Club.

More from "Cacho" playing drums, timbal and tumbadoras (congas) with a latin band. Great independance.
The song originally by Willie Colon starts a little slow, but keep watching. :;):
