Its bass what works it for me too . whenever I have been to any live gigs , My observations (I like to pay particular attention to People) as the gig is about to start and the sound guys starts to turn up the heat . As soon as the bass tone kicks people start to Dance Its been that way every place Ive been .

You cant beat a nice steady Bass Tone. be it Guitar or Tumba .
That said its fair to say the rolls and highs have there place once the music has taken hold .

Thats my personal obervation . Check it next time your at a live gig . :D

I thing you all ok its about preference and sound CANDIDO CAMERO one of the greatest use three congas same size different tunes and he make the work that he wants to make but CANDIDO is one of the MASTER.
