Postby Joseph » Thu Apr 03, 2008 2:21 am

A bit late....happened during forum downtime.... but nonetheless worth noting

Israel "Cachao" López, the Cuban bassist and composer, died at the age of 89 on March 22, 2008 in Coral Gables, Fla.

Another giant gone.
Rest in Peace.

Another of the greats leaves us for the other world.

Sadness............

Why do they all have to go. It's been such a series lately...

For those who do not know well this giant man, listen to "master session volume 1 and volume 2"

He was the one who dusted danzon to bring it to another level.

El paraiso esta lleno de maestros.

I was sad to hear that Cachao had passed away. The local Latin and Latin Jazz radio show did a dedication to Cachao and his body of work is impressive. We have to enjoy these giants of Latin music while we have them because we are losing that entire generation of great musicians.
