Those look fantastic.
Those bongos show some incredible attention to detail in
their construction.
Those are the model I've always like on Moperc's website.

Your photos show the drum much better than Moperc's website. Thanks
for posting.d

Thanks Yambu!
My family and I had to drive to Wilmington the day I got the bongos in the mail, so I have yet to really sit down with them for more than 15 minutes, let alone get my sound relative to tuning. I quickly "bought my way up" the bongos ladder starting with a set of Aspires (yikes) then Performers and now these. It did not take me long to realize I love this instrument. That being said, I wanted to hear what they are SUPPOSED to sound like. I am going to pick up a decent mic for recording. After I get the sound tuned in I will post a video or two. There is not a whole lot of info on these bongos online, which is the case with a few top of the line models. I hope to remedy this and make Michel and he other true Artisans some money on the way! :D Thanks for the interest!

Here is a photo of the happy new owner. They are right out of the box!

I always recommend to people to get the best equipment / instruments they can afford,
even if they are not experts.
Having nice equipment lends to the learning experience, making it more enjoyable, I feel
sorry for the beginners that have to fight their technique AND their equipment.

Also quality stuff holds it's value longer and is easier to sell if they quit.....

saying that though, DON'T EVER QUIT AND DON'T EVER SELL THAT LOVELY DRUM!

As the great English poet, John Keats, wrote:

"A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep..."

The wood is Maple.

I am so glad that we all share the same depth of appreciation for these instruments!

If there are any picture requests I am sure I can accommodate.

I am happy for you daniel. The bongos are very nice indeed. I hope you have many years of pleasure with those. The quality seems to say that they will be around for a very long time. Maybe one day I will have a set.
