And i am glad your project came out awasome, i really apreciate how nice some of our member's projects turn out good.

Well I let this drum go, I had been meaning to keep it, but a design colleague seemed to really want it.
I'll miss it but right now I am using the space for 3 shekeres and some guagua's I am making.
Anyways just thought I would post the final chapter of me and this particular drum

Hey Geordie. I love the GonBop. Great tone, great restoration job. I'm having a good time playing it here at home and look forward to actually playing it out.

Ever since this old wooden quinto of mine busted beyond repair a few years ago, I've been playing crappy ones that did not have the tone I'm looking for. This guy should totally fit the bill, sitting next to my gonbop tumba, and falling right into the vacancy left by my own gonbop quinto that split on me 20 years ago.

The finish is very cool. I see your note below about the tung oil. I do a fair amount of woodwork and restoration myself, but am not so familiar with tung oil and its properties. Any info would be great since, inevitably, at some point down the line I will need to maintain or restore it myself.

Thanks again!

What caught my eye is some of the conga art he posted a while back. He sent me some images and here they are.
