Bay area teacher?

Postby waardahl » Mon Sep 22, 2008 10:50 pm

I'm going to be in Berkeley in mid-October for a few days, and would like to take a lesson or two on bongos and/or timbales. I'm a veteran drummer/percussionist but am new to these instruments, so the lesson(s) would have to be of an introductory nature. I'm well aware of the limitations of one or two lessons, but I think it will be very helpful to have a hands-on lesson versus working from a book and youTube video clips! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know the bay area club scene well enough to recommend some live Latin or Latin Jazz music for October 12-14? Thanks for any help!!

If you are in Berkeley I would recommend Clifford Brookes.
