Hello guys,

I found old photos of the manufacture of my first wood drum with the rest of a wine barrel.

LOT of work but the result is still perfect, 4 years later !!!

You made that drum from a wine barrel? Great.

Hello, Bongo !!

Yes it's huge, I have weld the "V" directly on the rim without drill. I like the look.

I used Bee's wax for protect the wood of this drum.

Here is a latest photo where you can see it :

Rim, hook and plate are now rust (I haven't put anything to protect). But it's not so bad, I will maybe varnish it now to fix it.

Hello Mike !

Thank you ! I like to work wood and metal, it's a real pleasure !!!

When I build the shell, it was smell good Bordeaux wine !!! as you can see on the inside, the wood was colored with the wine. Maybe that's great for have a good sound !!!

I want to make clear that I haven't drink all the wine in the barrel to make a drum with..... :wink:

I have mounted a nice cow skin.
