Looking for a traditional crown...

Postby Ivan » Sat Dec 06, 2008 4:07 pm

Hey All,

It's been a while.... JC, Marcelo, David, Isaac....

I own a pair of Meinl free ride bongos... I purchased them with the comfort curve crowns, which i didn't like.... I was able to replace the Hembra crown with an original traditional crown for meinl, but I was not so lucky with the macho (the smaller head) crown.... I have a proto-type from JCR which is starting to warp, I've had it for a while now...

Do you know of, or do you wanna get rid of, or do you know someone that has a traditional crown (chrome preferred), for your standard size (Lp, Meinl, Toca, etc)... Of the two heads on the bongo, it's the smaller one of the two, this is called the "Macho".

Look forward to hearing from ya'll... Hope everyone is well.

Hey bro, good to see you back on here. Certainly has been a while!
Can your local LP distributor supply you with the old school Matador bongo rim? Prob be the easiest way to go.

This site supplies traditional rims for congas. You may want to give them a call for bongos.

I have a set of wood FW300 iirc with traditional rims, I think you could call Meinl and see what they can do for you.

thanks abakua, derbeno and chan chan chan... I know I could order from the company directly, but I was lookingfor something a little cheaper... it's difficult to find someone that will part with a piece of their equipment, so I may need to end up going the more expensive route afterall...

thanks again for your input.
