Re: NEW ENDORSEMENT TESTIMONIAL

Postby JConga » Fri Dec 19, 2008 6:16 pm

OK I HAVE TO MAKE A FEW CORRECTIONS ON MY TESTIMONIAL...IN MY HASTE AND EXCITEMENT I MADE SOME ERRORS IN DESCRIPTION ...
THE HARDWARE IS HAND POLISHED 100% STAINLESS STEEL WITH "LIFETIME" GUARANTEE...
THE REMO HARDWARE WAS USED ON MY CONGAS....BUT THE HARDWARE USED BY VOLCANO IS TOM'S HARDWARE/DESIGN THAT IS 'HAND MADE' AS WELL
THE INSIDE OF THE DRUMS ARE FINISHED WITH NO GLUE SEAMS TO SEE...
THEY COME WITH RUBBER BOTTEMS AND 'CONGA BUMPERS'
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE GOTO VOLCANOPERCUSSION.COM AND TALK WITH TOM....TELL HIM "JOHNNY" SENT YOU!.....

Felizitaciones hermano, una bendicion son esos tambores. Im sure you will enjoy them for many years to come.

I had approached Tom about the possibility of an endorsement a while ago and also to see if he was interested in getting his drums distributed here through a major distributor Im very tight. Unfortunately they were not in a position to do so, however, something came up with disturbed me a little.
Id be interested to hear who has been 'spreading lies about Volcano' on here as per Toms email discussion I had with him. Ive not had a reply from him since I questioned this and asked if he was sure Congaplace was the correct online community he had heard this from.
I wish you a great future in your endeavors and hopefully Congaplace will find it in their hearts to not speak falsely about Volcanoes in the future. There has been to many malicious lies blurted out across that forum about our cherished drums in the past. They were successful in upsetting hundreds of our owners which was their intent. We understand their motivating factors, but our competitors are our friends and they don't like slander either.

Perhaps someone dared to suggest other tubs might be as good or better.

Its Saturday and I'm bored so I did a search using 'Volcano'.

I saw 12 pages of gushing praise and one or two "they are a a bit pricey" comments and someone thought they were a tad ringy (just a tad, but still awesome).

Unless you want to call an opinion a "lie" - doesn't seem like anyone here has slandered these drums in any way whatsoever - rather the opposite. Congaplace would seem to be a major source of free promotion for the company - must have been someone else's forum.

Now I go practice on my "not Volcano's but if I win lottery I'd get some", congas

I'd prefer more artisan made, rustic, 'authentico' items myself. These are too blingy and ostentatious for my taste.

Well in "defense" of these drums...they ARE "ONE OF A KIND" and have a very "authentico" sound...very dry slaps "seco' just like Cuban congas.the skins are unrivaled..."blingy"???? just GREAT hardware...these drums DO NOT RING OR PING OR HAVE ANY OVERTONES...just great sound...pricey YES...but worth every penny and these drums would basically be the LAST and ONLY set of congas you would ever want to use as a professional...this is my "professional" opinion on Toms "Made in America" congas. Mike Gallichio can back me up on this...Johnny Conga..Mike?.....PS Tom Alexander IS an "ARTISAN"....

And I do respect that Johnny. Perhaps I'll be fortunate enough to try try one of his drums someday, they are certainly unique.
Perhaps I'll like them more in 20 yrs, with a few dings here and there and after that hi-gloss finish has lost some of its retina scorching power.

All the best maestro.

Hey, I have never seen or touched these drums (other than on over the internet) - I'm just reporting what other folks said from my little journey into the archives.

I have no personal opinion of my own - other than the vast, vast majority who do own them seem to think they are stunning. I made a wee joke about "if I win the Lotto" - but being Canadian I'd opt for one of the other generally praised line of drums - Moperc. Combination of national pride and cost effectiveness (shipping and no outrageous customs fees).

I'll repeat - all I did was take a dip into the archives to see if there was anything "slanderous" said. That of course was a reaction to the communication that the gentleman at Volcano thought someone was trash talking the product on our forum. I couldn't recall anything like that so I took a look.

I've seen several Volcano drums in person, they aren't quite as "blingy" in person.
The camera does something to them, especially if a flash is used.

I really like the drums. I think it's a great endorsement for Johnny, way to go man!
I love that promo picture, very classy.
