Meinl vs. LP

Postby torpedo tom » Tue Jan 06, 2009 7:05 am

Didn't want to hijack the Meinl Pro. Series thread, so am starting this one. I have a three drum Meinl Pro. set: quinto, conga & tumba. Beautiful drums, but I reall think that the LP Classics sound better, both with factory heads. If the heads were changed, that might be another story. I think the workmanship on the Meinls is somewhat better, but the sound is what really matters. May try to sell mine and order a set of LP Custom Shop drums in the green fade. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I own both Meinl Pro Series and LP Classics and they are very similar to me.
The Meinls get the edge in hardware and some volume but you pay more.
