Postby Refujiado » Wed Jan 21, 2009 7:43 pm

Hey guys i have a classic II Lp conga but i would like to take it back purchase something a bit better, was thinking about some islas, in which i will have a set, just not yet, BTW Mario, great guy, no doubt hes passionate about the art of making the drums and playing them... But anyways if any of you got some congas for sale, as really good price including shipping, shoot me some offers..

Refujiado,

Do a search at: http://www.craigslist.com

Now and then you'll find good deals on tumbadoras.

Best,

JG

Buckoh, how is the sound on the Del Cielos? I remember when Sky still had the shop and I always wanted one. But I have not heard anything about them. Do they compare to high caliber drums like Ritmo and Islas etc? I've heard a lot of good things about the Bauers I would get if I had space for one more drum!!

Can you submit a photo of Del Cielos? I've never seen one like that...

I tried looking for pics of them online but since the company closed and their website is no longer up, it's hard to find pics of them. I found a pic of the hardware which is pretty cool. Del Cielo never put holes on the shells so the hardware is free floating!

Here is another pic, so that you can see the beauty of the walnut shells - made from one tree!

That's what I'm talking about!!! :D Wow...
I always thought those drums were something special. The only thing missing is a straight-forward review on their sound. If they sound the way they look, I can't imagine another drum that could hang with these monsters.

They're one of a kind and not made anymore.

Even if they don't sound well, I would buy a set just to decorate my house! I could stare at them all day.

Thanks for the pic Mike!! Whose are they?? Does he/she have any interest in selling them?

peace

See thats what im debating, might have a deal on some classics LP a crazy deal, hope it goes through, if not im so tempted of getting some islas is crazy... I know theyre well worth it but im just starting, so i dont know if it will be a smart decision in jumping into such quality conga... What do you guys think, IF deal does not go through...

You are welcome - actually I snatched the pic from this site a while ago - but cant remember where.

Marco,
yes the bellies are pretty much the same shape as Islas, but theyre way heavier I guess.
I do not know anybody who plays or has play Del Cielos.
