Caoba Bongo Dominican For Sale

Postby docarroyo » Sat Mar 07, 2009 1:43 am

My latest aquisition are a pair of solid caoba shell bongo, because of the hardware I'm thinking there from Santo Domingo. The hangers on the hoops look like they were welded by a novice and no polishing was done to the weld points or metal in general but its funtional. The skins are chibo and sound F'ing great dulce para las orejas. I might change the hardware but the chibo macho is going to stay. They are taller than any of my other bongo and the project like concert bongo. There like canons between my legs, now I feel like I have three there LMAO. Pita Can~on. Just thought I share these and if I refin and put new hardware on I will post flics later. ***** Gentelmen and ladies I just listed these bongos on ebay due to my have recently purchased Valje bongos and finacial situation (I'm out of work) these would make a great candidate for a renovation from Cali or Matthew Smith, Just thought I would let you folks Know.*******

I was lucky and just happened across these. This type show up on Craigslist and Ebay from time to time you just have to check on a daily basis and jump on them when they do.

They look awesome Izzy. Are you going to take them to Cali to refinish or re-do the metalwork? Let me know and we'll take a ride over there. By the way, I picked up a gon-bop 9.5 diam quinto and Cali has it now to re-do. Call me.
