Ringing conga, new skin?

Have you try to hit a hook or a side plate with a stick (or directly the shell but be carfull to your varnish !!) ?. If the bad ring is still here, it's not a skin / technique problem, it come from the shell.

in this video, there are all the tones plus "sheel tone"
There is definitely ringing within a shell. I've tried already when I put the skin down for the first time.

Definitly the shell, I'm sorry for you Mario, but seems you have no luck to have a bad shell....

Usually, Meinl LC with a good skin should be not bad at all !!!. Maybe you can go back to the store and try to exchange your drum...

1 is the wood
2 pAINT THE INSIDE OF THE CONGA LIKE GRETCH DRUMS AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFERENCE THIS MATERIAL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT IS NOT A PROBLEM THAT IS THE SOUND OF THE CONGA LUIS USE THEM LIVE , IS STUDIO, CLINICS IS THE SAME SOUND GOOD LOOK

What do you think about that? Do you paint inside? what with?

Don´t see any reason why you should paint the inside of your drum, on the contrary, the smoother the surface of the shell interior is with some varnish, the louder the tone and thus the ringing is going to be IMHO!
