Hey Juancho,
I see two different shells, which rings a bell about a thread we had about vintage LP bongos a while
ago. After a hard day of teaching I am too lazy to look for the thread, sorry.

What exactly do you want to know about this bongo set?

I have got a late 1970s LP bongó (two same shells though) which I call my miraculous set :D
They are very good bongos with decent skins in my opinion - BTW your skins look pretty good too.

Regards
Mike

The gentleman who is selling me these said he spoke to Mr. Cohen personally and he said he only did a couple of these sets in this contrasting lathe pattern. Made about 1970 of solid walnut. He has new calf on them and refinished a year ago so this is why I need know if it's worth it ($150.00).......what do you think?

Same exact bongos. Thery are on ebay now for 129.95 or something like that. IMHO they are a mismatched set, I doubt this guy talked to Martin Cohen at all. They do not look walnut at all specially the hembra, looks like regular parawood.

Those same bongos were sold on Ebay by Robert Felcher out of San Diego, Calif. In my opinion it is a miss matched set and I have never seen that combination at all. I had an original 1964 LP set ( one of the first 10 made ) by Matin Cohen, it had a sticker of Maywood, NJ, even before the Pallisades Park location. I had those bongos for about 30 yrs. and traded them to one of our forum member. I'm very familiar with vintage LP bongos, but those shown in the previous photos look like a miss matched set. Enclosed see a photo of the 1964 Maywood NJ set.
