That is a good record. I like how the liner notes give credit to The Mission district in my city as inspiration.
I would have loved to have seen Pancho hanging out in the Mission. Local John Santos is on there too.

Was listening to PUTUMAYO "LATIN MUSIC" and also a few albums from Cuban music of BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB which for me there are some excellent songs to practice the bongos to.

...though I'm sure European forummers have familiarity with this group which is Latin genre based but unafraid to fuse with jazz and a taste of Venezuela, etc. Very sweet sounds. Check 'em out if you haven't already.
