Have you not spoken with Mario ?
I was on the phone with him last night I mentioned you would be contacting him.
some exiting things happening with Isla percussions . he said to say Hi to everyone here on the Conga forum .
He made a big choice to leave the US but is so pleased the way things are working out .

Web presence for Isla Percussions.... now with current pricing for mahogany and ziricote drums.

http://islapercussions.blogspot.com/

I had the pleasure to speak with Mario myself this week. I have to say that prior testimony of his passion for the music, providing quality instruments to produce it, and his desire to share it with others, were all right on the mark.

Although I am new to formal instruction, I have been playing congas for about eight years.
Now that I have begun to dig in for a true understanding of this music, and with a chance of owning a set of high quality instruments on the horizon, I now truly feel "the bug"!!!!

Looking forward to many years of learning and growth on the skins.
Thanx to all on this forum for the insight and inspiration you have given me so far.

With Respect - Ed
