What kind of Drums are These?

Postby RumbaTumbadora » Sat Mar 06, 2010 11:29 pm

Hi Everyone!

I am the new guy here. Nice to meet everyone! From the posts I've read on these forums, everyone is extremely knwoledgable and passionate about the percussion. Im stoked to start posting here!

This first post is about this pair of conga drums I have here. I'll be honest, I am a bassist and never learned much about models of conga drums. I recently inherited these from a professional musician who went to open a samba school in China. So I am curious what these bad boys could be...

The heads are 10'7 and 9'3/4... Not sure if I took these right.
And the height is about 27 inches.

Any Ideas Peoples?

These look like old Toca model congas. The side plates are anyway. Not bad drums...One of my first congas was like these.

Seems like TOCA TRADITIONAL

http://www.tocapercussion.com/product/c ... ongas.html

But the measurements are different than RumbaTumbadora described.
They 30' tall and the heads are 11' , 11'3/4 and 12.5 as almost all congas today
