KORG wavedrum

Postby dabesa » Thu Mar 11, 2010 11:27 pm

Hi congueros,
just saw this recent video about the electronic hand drum KORG Wavedrum:

similar to Hand Sonic, but seems much more advanced and realistic.

Is it really revolutionary??
Anyone tried this?

Thanks!

I played it at a local shop, it was a waste of time.
I hoped that it would be similar to the Handsonic but have better sounds and better drum machine.
Instead it disappointed completely.

It is NOT for hand drummers - no matter what Korg and their marketing team says.
You can play it with hands but there's no advantage.
It's weak and poorly executed.
It's designed for drummers that want to try to use their hands instead of sticks once in awhile.
It works OK with sticks but the sounds are not musical or natural, everything sounds guitarish or keybord-ee in a surreal way.
Except for the berimbau patch, there's nothing that sounds natural, it's all vague and electronic-ee.
