Here's what's in my cd changer right now: "Conga Kings" with Gio, Patato and Candido, "Irakere Babalu Aye", Cachao "From Havana to New York", Irakere "Live at Ronnie Scotts", and a mixed cd of Ray Barretto hits.

I just downloaded "Arpus Fusion" a cd with Anga playing congas and Pascal Coulon on harp. Sounds a little strange, but Pascal's harp sounds more like a Spanish (or Cuban) guitar than a harp you might hear in a symphony or orchestra.

I also got Opus 13 which is Anga's FIRST band ever, that is for later in the day.

VIVA ANGA!!!!

The second part of this week I have been listening to Tito Puente recordings from the 80’s and 90’s with his Latin Jazz Ensemble and Full Blown Orchestra. Kick-Ass Stuff.

I'm surprised there is no mention of the album "con la conciencia tranquila" which half of the songs are spectacular for a jamming party aside aside from the conga mastery.

Tomas Cruz played congas on that CD by Paulito FG and references a lot of the album in his books. The CD seems to be out of print and basically impossible to get, unless you want to pay internet thieves $60 -$150 for a used CD. You can download pirated MP3s for free from some websites, if you are so inclined to that sort of thing. Anyone know a legit source to buy the CD for a reasonable price in dollars so the musicians can get their dos cocos royalties (if that)?
