JC, I have eyed those shells since you showed them to me. I have the replacement parts ! the Slingerland leg / bell post castings that fit the holes in the shell, But I'd never replace that bell post system, see how it dents the shells & leaves an impression of the part ? But These are the heavy Brass shells, not the thinner ones that Slingerland changed to. These are as heavy gauged as Leedy but are a shallower shell. I want to do a complete restore on them, re roll the shells to make the more perfect round, do some body work on the dings & dents , in prep for being media blasted & re laquered. I would remove the galvanized zinc plating from rims, true them up to be flat level, re bevel the edges for the sticking egdes. Fill all the holes w/ Brass and rebuild the timbale mount etc. YOU wanna trade some thing ? You know I am the President of the Broke Assed Congueros Foundation ! ? lol I have a mahogany GB quinto ? The match is on sale at Trading musician * I'd hate to see some bozo buy them if he cannot fix or repair or restore them.
