Sounds like one HELL of a deal

but...anyone has had any experience with Aruba percussion?

I don't need them. I have 3 Patato white congas, 3 LP Classics, 2 Patato red congas (in PR for my tours over there), Tito Puente Brass Timbales, A gen II LP bongo, and 3 Sonoc Batas. I'm all set with percussion. :) But, I figured I'd put this out there for people who might be interested.

that's what I thought too.

They don't like like Aspire's though. They look fat and tall like LP Classics. That's what piqued my interest. They can't be as bad as Aspires.....

Maybe Matador quality?

I would not even recommend these drums for beginners. The hardware is very thin on these drums, much like the Aspire and current CP's. The rims are very unforgiving, If you over tighten you will "Buckle" them, this is something that a beginner is very likely to do. The wood that is used is soft and not hard, the skins are very mediocre. For that price, if you are patient you will find a much better deal, on a good set of used drums such as Matadors or LP Classics. Jason has a good deal going on right now as it appears that he is selling two classics for 360.00.

I wish there was some type of video review of Aruba percussion.

Too bad on their choice of wood....$549.00 is a hell of a deal....wish it was Siam Oak or Ash...or something with some strength...

Wishing it was Siam Oak/rubberwood. Never thought I'd hear/read that.

my friend has a set, he's a sax player. I've played on them. Under sized as in a few inches short and head size, paper thin skins. truly unfortunate instruments. You can see them in the background here.

If you really must dabble in this range, then you are better with LP Aspires. Otherwise fogedabou'it!
