Latest Score: LP PP Quinto and LP PP Bongo

Postby PRDRconguero » Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:09 pm

I just picked these two up. I haven't come across an LP bag yet so I was happy to see that come with it. The Bongo is mint....comes with hard case and the LP drum set mount. I have a 70's LP Bongo I will be posting in the "Bongo" section that I want to use towards a trade/partial trade. I'm still looking for a complete Black Fiberglass Palisades Park Conga Set! Check it out!

Just got a set of those PP mahoganies a couple months ago, put some new heads on and now that they are starting to break in they sound sweeeet! Really nice set of ongos, i think the mahogany takes them over the top.

Thanks pcastag. I played em at the seller's house but I didn't want to overtighten and break a skin. I want to treat the skins before I tune em up higher...they've been sitting for years.

Oye bongocero,

You made a killing on both, specially the bongos, they are one of the first made between 68/70. They look to be walnut and are in great condition. After years of having many sets, I have come to appreciate them. Those Palisades LP bongos are in a class by themselves. Enjoy them as the treasure they are.

Saludos,

Dario

Thank you Dario....I appreciate the in-depth info. The seller told me he picked em up in the late 60's brand new. They are sitting tight but I have not had the time to get into them good...I def will

Great score - Great bongo! I have the same one. I have the PP model in walnut and mahogany with the exact same skins. I thought I would finally be able to decide which one I prefer - but I can't. Sometimes I think the mahogany is brighter and the walnut deeper but it is probably my imagination.
