New Congas made by Volcano Percussion

Postby Gallichio » Sun Sep 19, 2010 1:10 pm

Hello Congaplace.

I hope all are doing well. For those that love Volcano Congas- Here is a photo of a new set of 3 Mango wood congas made by Volcano Percussion. This is the stainless steel hardware and rubber bumpers that I really like. The 2nd photo is Koa wood. This is the wood I would love to have a set made of. I am still dreaming about it. I hope you enjoy the photos.

These are gorgeous! Looks like sunrays in the wood.

Love those tubs. Just maybe I might be a proud owner some day. But for now, I'm saving for a rainy day, my daughter's education, etc.

VOLCANO CONGAS,

ARE SIMPLY BEAUTIFULLY MADE DRUMS.
I WOULD LOVE TO PLAY SOME ONE DAY.

IF THEIR SOUND CAN MATCH THEIR LOOKS, THEY WOULD BE, (MUST I SAY)?

Can't deny the beauty. Great profiles.

Stunningly beautiful that Monkeypod grain. My eyes never tire of seeing them. Much prefer that hardware style over others Ive seen. Nice thick dark looking skins too.

Would be nice to see a vid with good audio capturing their sound accurately. Sadly I wouldnt be able to justify spending the asking price on them however.

But as said, there is no denying their stunning beauty.

I had to jump in ..I LOVE my Mango Volcano congas..they give me the sound I've looked for, for a long time..and the thing is well about them is if u put on a Remo fiberskyn No3 on them they instantly sound like fiberglass drums and are very loud as well...they only weigh 34 pounds and are light in comparison to other drums out there..here are mine..

The wood is beautiful, the shape to me looks too generic, haven't played any so I can't comment on the sound, they look to me to be very well constructed though. Thee was a guy who had bands put on a set, for some reason I really like the way drums look with the traditional bands, but those defintely are some nice looking drums, love the exotic woods.

That is authentico Cubano my friend. I have a pair of artisan drums on loan from my teacher and they are exactly that shape.

Artisan drums from cuba? I've seen lots of cuban drums and they come in all shapes, I guess what I meant is that the the shape to me looks like an LP or toca or pearl. Probably due to the lack of bands, not sure if I'd want to put bands on that nice wood though.
