Black Mamba

Postby tumbador79 » Thu Feb 10, 2011 4:15 pm

Does anyone know anything about "Black Mamba" drums? I just bought a pair on ebay for a very cheap price (£75 including stand!).
They are fibreglass, 28" tall, 11.75" and 12.5". They look like pretty close copies of LP to me, even the stand has the same design as LP with thick legs and wheels. Couldn't find any info on the net, so just curious to know something about the company. They sound pretty OK so I reckon I got a bargain!

Basically those ARE LP's with the skins on them just saying Black Mamba, from what I see...there are also a lot of 'fake' LP's as well...I mean there are those using LP brackets and putting them on different drums...I have seen that before...

Thanks for the info.. All the metal work is stamped "Black Mamba" as well.. It's interesting that LP didn't object to them using their designs and putting their name on them??

No letter P on the side plates, at least not on the front.. Can't be bothered at the moment to take them off and look on the back.
Anyway - as they seem to be essentially the same as LP original model (or maybe Matador?) either way I'm happy to have them for the price :)

Well I took them out on a couple of gigs this weekend and they sounded great - nice and loud! Got some positive comments from band members and audience :D Really happy with them 8)
