In the early 70's I saw a player that had a set of "see thru plexiglass" congas and they sounded pretty good..Wood is getting to be too expensive now .Remo went with Acousticon material(too me it's like some kind of hard cardboard with press wood, i dont know) so cheaper materials are gonna be needed eventually...im ol skool gonna stay ol skool with my 'wooden' drums....they sound just great!...
