Please let everyone know, are these drums in your posted picture new or they old Gon Bops?

Umm, please note the title at the top and how the pic is the exact same one as in the eBay auction.

Then check out the Myspaceprofile and Leedy2's profile here. It's the same person from Effort, PA.

So, people think you are the real deal and gain your trust. Then, hopefully they spend huge dollars for fraudulent items??? Is that the game you play Mr. Faustino {Cuco} Cruz?

Did you have enough time this time to male some quick deceitful changes? Or, did someone else catch what I have posted and saw it?

According to the craigslist ad they state the drums are older and are NOT new.
This is obviously Leedy's writing as it contains spelling errors and is in all caps.

GON BOP Mariano Series MAHOGANY CONGAS BOTH ARE 10 3/4" HEADS AND ARE IN VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION CONSIDERING THERE AGE. THE HEADS ARE NOT ORIGINAL BUT SOUND GREAT.

So in the craiglist ad he clearly states the drums have considerable age yet in this thread he claims the drums in the photo are the new GB models and that they have cracks already. This is clearly misleading, fraudulent and an extreme violation of the website's rules. Leedy you keep getting exposed as a fraud that cannot be trusted in any way.
Looks like Leedy has already been banned once or more for his fraudulent ways.

There's another thing I don't get about Mr. Seedy Leedy......How old is he and how old was he when he played with all the great bands he name drops?

So, he graduated High School in 1971. But he was playing with all these bands in the 1960's? WOW, what an amazingly talented guy at such a young age. Why are there no Youtube videos of him, obviously one of the great ones, playing? Why is there nothing even when you google his name except for a mention of a photo he contributed for an article, a forum post, or a drum he's trying to sell somewhere?

He may have offered some useful info on the forums, but I can't trust the source myself. How does one discern the truth from the BS with the guy?

Hello All---I think this is a good lesson to trust your own intuition. People can say many things, but when they discriminate or say hurtful things against people or product that is when it has gone too far. I read all the things said about Gon Bops products but still spent by money to buy a Mariano Quinto because I have trust in my past experience with these products and am happy with my purchase.
Don't always believe what you read and only some of what you see. Unfortunately some of the people on this forum don't have the experience and rely on what they read. When this information is not truthful it is not what this forum stands for and makes no sense.
So let's keep it real and relay only factual information.
I think we are all here because we love the instrument and live for the rhythm.

Well Akbar and Co. made my Gon Bops California requinto and it is a monster of a drum, I've had it for about 2 years now. Extremely well made drum with and incredible sound. Akbar has an incredible reputation here in San Francisco as a craftsman and repairman. If he is willing to stand by a product it can't be bad.

I have purchased a new set of 4 Gon Bops Mariano series congas in chrome and I really like them. The Bongos are on the way. I am a fiberglass man at heart but I enjoy the old school look and sound of these drums. I dont' know anything about the Durian wood used but so far so good. Time will tell on the wood. The drums are very well made and have nice heads. The chrome is flawless. The sound is very mellow and dry. Very little overtones. So far I am happy with this purchase. Hey Gallichio,

I like the updated chrome hardware and the contrast to the darker wood. I do not know much about Duran wood if it really makes a difference but mine sound great and you are going to enjoy them. I updated the stock skins with Manito skins and rings and thought they really jumped up a level or even two. Something you might want to consider in the future.
