Help me identify these...

I just found these on CL for a pretty reasonable price, but I'm not sure what model they are and I'm not sure the seller can tell me. Does anyone know which model? Also, I have asked him twice to remeasure across the heads and he keeps coming back with 13" and 14". Does that sound right? Thanks.

You hit the jackpot, those are original model Palisades Park Lp conga and tumba, probably the most desirable set today for the working percussionist. Without a doubt the best congas LP ever made. Made in Americana not Thailand. You got a winner there!

Sweet looking set indeed. Those remind me of Omelenkos set which looked to be in pristine condition.
I’m not sure about the size, I don’t remember them making a super tumba but the tumba generally measures 13". I don’t believe that they are being measured properly. I think that you are looking more at 12.5 and 13.

I think the seller is measuring from rim to rim instead of the actual playing surface. I think the drums are an 11 1/4" conga and a 12 1/2" Tumba. This allows for the extra 1 1/2" or so to get from rim to rim.

I made a mistake on the Conga..........he is probably measuring an 11 3/4" Conga, and a 12 1/2" Tumba. My mistake on the earlier post.

We could provide more helpful information about the drums if we had a better idea what city you are in.

Well, I have decided to go for these drums. The guy states that they are 13" and 14", but I can't be certain that he really knows. Can anyone verify that LP made PPs in these sizes or not? Thanks.. most helpful. This may change my mind because I really need a conga and tumba, not tumba and supertumba. I want to add that I have to travel 2 hours to get them and I'd rather not be surprised.

The seller probably does not know how to measure conga heads so seller does not know what she or he is talking
about. I do not think LP made them fiberglass drum with 13" and 14" heads. I think they are your standard conga
and tumbadora combo. (11" 3/4" and 12" 1/2").
