Meinl Steely II with Toca Traditionals

I just bought Steely II stands for my Toca Traditionals, I like them very much, but there is one slight problem, the tumba sits a bit higher in the stand then the conga.
The difference is about 15 mm and the holes are 30 mm apart……..

So to remedy this I can think of two solutions:
1. Drill and tap extra holes
2. Bend the legs a bit outwards on the tumba stand

Has anyone other ideas?
Or is there someone with the same experiences?
Your help would be much appreciated…………….

Option #2 is what I would prefer (and have successfully done already).

It looks like strong material (and it should be!), did you put them in a vise or something?

No vise, here is what you can do:
once you have disassembled the two-part stand, you get a good length of tube (appr. 80 cm long) with the right diameter,
e.g. something like a 2 inch-water pipe, insert the upper stand part and you use the pipe to bend it into shape.
Be careful to do it little by little and apply even pressure to all three parts of the Steely. You might want to check
in between if the drum sits more snug now.

Hessel......I have three of those stands myself, and just as an FYI...Do not tighten those little bolts that keep the two pieces of one leg together. What happens is that the opening gets wider and can snap on you. The metal on my stands is like a brittle pot metal. I had to contact Meinl to send me a replace piece.

Today I had a go at bending the legs of the stand.
I didn’t have a piece of metal pipe so I used a piece of PVC pipe, which worked just fine!
The first bend I made was a bit too much, so I had to bend it a little back.
After some more fiddling around I am happy with the result.

@ the breeze, thank you for the info.
I was already thinking about adding a third bold and to put some nuts on the back.
This will spread out the load a bit I hope………
