I recently seen the Bobby Allende "Cafe con Leche" congas. Has anyone played them yet? I'm thinking about purchasing another set of congas and I like how it looks.

I played them and they sound great! They come with Remo Fiberskyns and their projection is pretty good with less overtones than some other congas that are also in fiberglass. They are great to play seated since they are only 28 inches tall. Also, they look great like nothing out there! (I have the Richie Flores bongos and they sound great too).

They are Mayan and Aztec symbols. I think Richie's wife is from Central America and she helped Pearl develop the design.

I am aware, have been shown, some new designs by Pearl in congas and bongos. Something like the Accent series by LP but with less "stuff" in the design. We'll see..
