50th Anniversary Congas?

Hello Congaplace,

I was looking at my old LP catalogs and I noticed that in 2014 Latin Percussion Company will be 50 years old. I am wondering if they are planning a 50th year anniversary Conga Drum. I hope the are. I hope it will be a Fiberglass drum like the Galaxy Fiberglass congas in all kinds of beautiful solid glitter finishes. What would you like to see them do for the 50th Anniversary?

I would like to see a posted archive of every hand drum
(even the prototypes) from the earliest hand-outs to the
latest mass produced....that would be a fifty year trip
thru some amazing developments. C'mon LP !

There were some interesting prototypes and limited edition bongos - different woods, synthetic shells, solid shells, 10 lugs - that were made late 60's - early 70's. I have seen a few of them over the years. Martin Cohen has pics of them all but has never posted them on his personal web page.

LP as a company has changed hands a few times and each time some different agreements were made regarding products and who has rights to what. I would be very surprised if some of these things ever made it into a retrospective history or 50 year event. But, I would like to see it too.
